In this lesson we were looking at PSA (public service announcement). Our task was to research on public service announcement on rape awareness.
During this period we went down to the computer rooms and researched on the internet. I looked at different types of public service announcement. I particularly looked at domestic violence , as it gives an idea of the things to include in a rape awareness advert.
I have researched on psa using google and youtube.
Some sites i have looked at were things like:
These videos has helped gain some ideas of how to make my PSA.
Next lesson we will be working towards making our adevert for rape awareness in groups.

17th-19th June 2009
On the 17th June we had filmed our sequence called The phone call on the first half of the lesson, and on the second half we had began to edit our video using imovie maker.
When we had filmed 'the phone call' i felt that it was becoming easier to use a camera to take different shots more steadily then the last time, when we had filmed a tour of our sixth form. Our group had managed to keep to time more effectively then the last time, when we had to rush and didn't manage to finish filming the end of our tour of sixth form. This time we had managed to film everything within the time period given.
Our group had never used IMovie to edit films before, but when we had started to use imovie we struggled at first to understand how to edit properly. After a little while we had managed to find it easy to use.
On the 19th June we all had finshed our final bits of editing, and then presented our video to the class. Although our video probably wasn't best in the class as a beginer in using these technologies i thought my group did pretty well in making the video.
The things that i thought that my group did pretty well in were things like:
*More steady camera shots
*location of our shots
*framing of our shots well
*keeping to our storyboard
*managing to edit the video using a new programme 'IMovie'
some of the things we sawe that we need to improve on and look out for in the future when filming are things like:
*when taking shots we need to make sure we don't include unwanted things in the shots and be more careful how we position our shots
*the sound- we need to make sur e we put in apropriate sound with the clip that we are filming (although the sound we used wasn't bad, we could have used it more effectively within the shots)
Overall i thought that our video was made quite well and we didn't have any distractions when filming our vidoe.
i think if i had to give a level using the mark scheme to our work i would give it a level 2 because our video had shown basic knowledge, but it showed a much bigger improvement then our first time filming. our filming was less shaky and we had better lighting then last time.
Now that we know how to edit, we should be able to do a better job when when we next film and should be ble to reach a level 3 by the time we get to making our main task.

15th June 2009
In this lesson we were split up into groups and we were given the task to create a story board for a sequence that we are planning to film during next lesson.
We were given a sequence that we had to follow called ''The phone call'' with all the different types of shots we needed top put in.
we had to decide what each character would say and where we were going to film the sequence.
i will be putting up a scan of our storyboard as soon as it has been scanned onto the computer.

8th-12th June- A2 course
This week we have been looking at our new course which is video filming.
We have been practicing how to use a camera and looking at all the different camera angles. We have been going out of class and have been taking shots of different camera angles and made a video tour of our schools sixth form, to get new year 12's to join our sixth form.
This has helped us look at what we need to be aware of when filming. Things we need to be aware of when filmig are:
*lighting
*framing shots i.e. not cutting of peoples heads
*keeping the camera steady when using the hand cam
*the use of the different camera angles
*sound
With our video, our camera was quite steady and our framing was done quite well. The things we could have improved on were he lighting and the sound. Our video had no voice over so it was quite silent when showing things like the classes. We have used quite a few different types of camera angles, such as medium shots, tracking etc.
12th June
Today in class we were given a mark scheme of this course. Looking at the mark scheme we were able to see at what level we are at now and we were able to se a target to meet. The mark scheme showed the required ability needed to reach each level.
There are 4 levels to the mark scheme, with one being the lowest and 4 being the hisghest. At the moment i think that i am at level 2 as i have basic ability in technical skills with usig a camera.
Through practicing using a camera i am able to hold shots more steadily, frame shots well, use a variety of shots, and select mise en scene.
By the end of this courswe i hope to reach a level 3.
